Visitors day is a day where we invite many other business people from around the area to come and promote their business and hopefully generate referrals for them. We are specifically looking for people in the following business categories:

1) Marketing Professional

7) Commercial Realtor

9) Car Sales person

    VISITORS DAY RECAP:

    Special thanks to Tracy for her promotional help and to Jamie for her educational moment on time management. We had a great turnout of small business professionals. Ever time we meet the group is getting better and better.

    Personally I have made great friendships, received valuable business advice, referrals, and generally just been having fun.


    THE NUMBERS:

    Here are the numbers: We had 13 people attend, passed three referrals, and had $25 in closed business (I bought a book).

    CONTINUAL IMPROVEMENT:

    Jamie, Tracey, Jeff, and I brainstormed several ways to improve the group after the meeting. Here are some of the categories discussed of ways we can improve:

    1) Moving to a more private location. I already spoke with, Jason, the owner of Sun Print Cafe and he will allow us to meet in the back room moving forward at no cost to the group.

    2) Organizing business spotlight. The spotlight is important because this is how we learn to promote each others businesses. It generates referrals for the person speaking. Someone should be in charge of the schedule of speakers. We will talk about this more next week.

    3) A small collection of dues to use for group expenses. This not only can help with promotion, but also helps make an official group charter. If we decide as a group to collect dues, then we will give people at least a two week notice and it will be minimal.

    4) Streamlining our breakfast ordering. People get so busy networking that nobody got the chance to order breakfast.

    5) Overlap of categories. I have ideas about this, but eventually we should have something in writing to make everything consistent and fair.

    6) Creating a Facebook and Linked in page. This is just a great idea in general.

    7) Scheduling another visitors day and growing the group to 20 members.

    MOVING FORWARD:

    Its a good sign that these issues are coming up, because it means that our group is growing and our members care about the success of our group. Of course, it is not necessary to address all these issues immediately. I suggest that we take one issue at a time, then discuss it, create a call to action, and improve incrementally. I volunteer to have a group vision moment every week and take on overall improvement of the group one issue at a time.
