The American Homebrewer's Association has designated August 4 as "Mead Day". Mead or honey wine is an alcoholic beverage made by fermenting honey.

We'll go over the history of mead, different kinds, make some, taste some and otherwise celebrate this unique beverage.

Hey is anyone going from the Macalester area? I've just come back to the states and don't have a car, so a ride would be extremely appreciated!

Sorry to miss this! I am going to the cabin to pick blackberries in the woods so I can make melomel! Cheers!

If you have mead, (homebrew or commercial) you'd like to share, that's obviously welcome. Otherwise, a nice cheese you like with some crackers are always good.

Thanks, Luke. I was planning on hosting this one here. Do you want to host a Sept meeting?

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
