Sustainable Food Production with Aquaponics

  • Needs a date

  • Needs a location

  • Two representatives from Nelson and Pade, Inc., the most respected name in Aquaponics systems, education, training, and R&D and the seminar will discuss the methods and science that make aquaponics work, the applications of aquaponics, the latest developments in the industry and the commercial viability of this unique form of agriculture.

This seminar will provide an understanding of aquaponics and the potential this technology has to feed people here at home and around the world. In aquaponics, using minimal water, energy, labor and resources intensive production rates can be achieved and it can be done in areas with no arable land, in urban settings or food deserts, thus supporting the local foods movement. Aquaponics is truly proving to be integral to the future of agriculture on many levels.

Is this one going to be organized on the weekdays evening or weekend? If I know the dates and time, then it would be easier for me to decide whether I can go or not since I am a student and take evening classes on the weekdays. Weekend works for me the best. It sounds really interesting so I would love to learn more about it

Hello Otgon, this event happened over a year ago. I'm not sure why it is still appearing. I went to the event and I have taken a 3 day seminar from Nelson & Pade, who put this meetup together. You can visit them at www.aquaponics.com

Thanks Tammy for your help! We'll have a projector for visual media and the format will be two fifty minute presentations with 10 minute breaks followed by a question and answer session about anything aquaponics!

I would be very interested in this meetup! When would the reps be available, how big of a place do they need? Do they have media requirements (projector, etc?). How long of a session would it be? I can put the word out for a facility. If we weren't so far north (Taylors Falls) everyone would be welcome here, but I would guess this is too far for it.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
