June Meetup - "Literary Influences - Who do you like to read?"

Probably the most controversial topic amongst writers is "who do you like to read and why?" Whether it be someone whose style you like to emulate or someone you just enjoy reading, who do you like to read and why? Almost as important, who do you not like to read? What authors made you want to toss a book in disgust (and we've all done it)? What authors can't write enough for you? It's been said "Write what you like to read," so understanding who you like to read can help you understand who you are as a writer.

Join us in the community room at the Uptown Lunds for reading, eating, and greeting with your fellow speculative fiction writers. New or inactive members, this is a great opportunity to connect or reconnect. If you've had a sale or publication, bring your happy news - - if you've had a crushing rejection, let us commiserate. Please indicate in your RSVP if you are planning to read.

If you haven't attended a Meetup at this location before, here's the scoop: Lunds in Uptown has a community room upstairs that is quiet, free and has great bus access. Even better yet, it has a fabulous deli but is not a restaurant. So we can brown bag our own lunches or buy a lunch there. The deli selection includes salads, sandwiches, soups and sushi. If you are going to be getting your food from Lunds, please arrive fifteen minutes early to pick out your food before the meeting.
