Who organized?
Hilary Moon Murphy

The July topic is members reading their stories (aloud, if there are any non-telepaths attending.)

Join us in the community room at the Uptown Lunds for reading, eating, and greeting with your fellow speculative fiction writers. New or inactive members, this is a great opportunity to connect or reconnect. If you've had a sale or publication, bring your happy news - - if you've had a crushing rejection, let us commiserate. Please indicate in your RSVP if you are planning to read.

If you haven't attended a Meetup at this location before, here's the scoop: Lunds in Uptown has a community room upstairs that is quiet, free and has great bus access. Even better yet, it has a fabulous deli but is not a restaurant. So we can brown bag our own lunches or buy a lunch there. The deli selection includes salads, sandwiches, soups and sushi. If you are going to be getting your food from Lunds, please arrive fifteen minutes early to pick out your food before the meeting.

    •  The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. Hilary kept things running smoothly without too many digressions. I was able to read some of my novel, as planned, and the responses offered were generally encouraging and helpful. I'll certainly be back.
    •  Loved to hear what others were working on. All very enjoyable pieces to listen to.
    •  Lots of good stuff got read. Good attendance and it was great connecting with everyone.
    •  I was reminded, yet again, of how many talented writers there are in the Minneapolis area. Thank you for sharing your stories.
    •  I was very excited to meet people who also cared about writing (a rare thing in my everyday life). I felt included from the get-go and that was important to me.
    •  The meeting was a very nice reading of works in progress by new and old members--everything from limericks to novel fragments. People received very helpful immediate feedback on their work and we all learned about the Monster Scream Squad.
