The best trip I've taken out west yet! Despite being turned back on Rainiers Ingraham glacier due to fierce storms and avalanche conditions we still summitted Mt. Hood,Shasta,Shastina and Lassen all within a 6 day climbing window totaling over 40 miles climbing a total ascent up over 21,000ft gain. The climb up Hood west couloir route was very technical and gut wrenching as we forged through complete white out conditions through a near vertical ice chute to a hostile summit approach. Shasta was exceptional as camping in Hidden valley was remote and secluded and the West face gully route was a respected challenge with equal reward. The weather from Shasta on was perfect. California really welcomed us with open arms. We also threw in a half day of top roping at some crags just outside of Shasta city and a tour of the northwestern coastline as well. I'll get some pics up once settled in here.Definately an epic adventure..JW

yea,but we are not going up Avalanche Gulch. We are going a more difficult remote route up west face gully to avoid the train to the summit and also we are doing a side trip to Shastina on the descent. All the logistics are almost complete
