Join other hiking enthusiasts in an intense workout in short period of time. We hike Mission Peak every Wednesday in the afternoon. Mission Peakis a peak east of Fremont, California with an elevation of 2,517 ft (767m). It is part of a ridge that includes Mount Allison and Monument Peak . Mission Peak is located in the Mission Peak Regional Preserve and is a part of the East Bay Regional Park District .
This is a strenuous trail with a constant uphill climb until you reach the summit. The elevation gain is approximately 2100 ft and the hike duration is less than 2 1/2 hours. This is an out-and-back hike. The trail is a well maintained gravel base until the last half mile. From this point the trail is hard pack dirt and rocky.
Parking Fee: $4 per vehicle at Ohlone College parking garage on Pine Street

MissionPeakoffers regular panoramic views of the Bay Area. It is common to be able to see the other high peaks of the Bay Area, including Mount Diablo , Mount Hamilton , and Mount Tamalpais . Furthermore, the peak provides good views of the cities of Oakland , San Jose , San Francisco , and Fremont . Under the right conditions (usually a crisp and clear winter day) even the Sierra Nevada range can be seen approximately 100 miles to the east.
