Marina Park Volleyball & BBQ Friday 9/6/2013 @ 4:30pm

Please join us on Friday September 6, 2013 at Marina Park.  We will be playing sand volleyball.  We will also be BBQing.  Play will go till dark (8:00pm).  The weather should be good.  We wil be playing sand doubles.  If you are a casual or beginner level player, you can play 3s, 4s, 5s, or 6s on the other sand court.  This is not a Sunday and play is on the sand courts so this does not count towards the limit of two Sundays a month at Marina Park.  Hope to see you out there!

BBQ Items (Optional Potluck)

1) Alisha - carrying leftover frozen BBQ meats from prior BBQ up to 30lbs, tray of steam rice, tray of salad or noodles.

2) Millie - 2 large bags of charcoal, lighter fluid, lighters, BBQ utensils, plates, forks, knives, cups

3) Lina - up to 10lbs of BBQ meats as needed

4) Mike - TBD

5) RB - 3lbs BBQ chicken

6) Monique - Sides/salads

7) Don - Tables, coolers, ice, BBQ meats TBD

8) Esther - Fruits and chicken

9) Alex - TBD

If you are driving and can bring people, message me.  I will include you in the carpools section of our main games.

About MPV (formed July 2010):

Play is on sand and grass at Marina Park (San Leandro) every 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month until further notice.  We always welcome more skilled players (B, BB, A, AA) and C/Beginning players aspiring to improve. We play under FIVB Beach rules for doubles and triples. For 4s, 5s, and 6s, the court can play under FIVB Beach or Indoor rules.

There are two SAND courts and two GRASS courts dedicated to DOUBLES: For each surface, the level is BB/A/AA on one court and C/B/higher on the other. The winning team plays again (or has the option to relinquish to the next challengers). Other grass courts are for 3 to 6 players per side, typically C and/or B.

Advanced venues: Play is on sand only (mostly doubles) at Ocean Beach (San Francisco), Mission Bay Creek Park (San Francisco), Clark Kerr Campus (Berkeley), Fremont Tennis Center (Fremont), Alameda Beach, Montara Beach, and Santa Cruz Beach. We play under FIVB Beach rules for doubles.

uh -oh. I put a couple sets of black doubles boundary lines in a black and orange duffel bag (may have been black and yellow, it was dark and very hard to distiguish colors) . It was the only bag on the ground that seemed to match the description of your bag, Don. Anybody pick up a bag with this description??

Thanks Tadas. I found them. They ended up being in the black garbage bag where the sand nets go. Someone may have moved them out of the black and yellow duffle bag.

Missing black boundary lines from this game at Marina Park 9/6/2013. Also missing 3 sets of doubles boundary lines on a wooden spool. It was in a large grey backpack from the last beach game. These are Burton's custom made boundary lines. Please message me if you picked them up.

We can use 1 or 2 large bags of ice and 1 or 2 medium to large coolers. I have no time to buy ice and my cooler has vanished. I think I have enough paper plates, and cups, but if you want to bring them as backups, please do so. On my way, thanks!
