Alameda Beach / Washington Park Volleyball Sunday 10/6/2013 (12pm)

Join us on Sunday October 6th at Alameda Beach at 12pm.  We will be playing beach doubles on the beach and grass volleyball in Washington Park.  We can only play Marina Park twice a month so we will schedule other venues.

There will be 2 beach courts and between 5 to 10 grass courts depending on the number of players.  On grass, the play is doubles, triples, quads to sixes.  The grass courts will be by the tennis courts.

Beginner level players should come after 3pm when we will have more players.  Intermediate level and higher can come at 12pm or anytime.  If you come at 12pm, you will be helping us set up.

If you are looking for a carpool, please post a comment so all the players can read it and respond accordingly.  You can also message or call me about carpools or if you have any other questions at [masked].  Thanks, Don

About MPV (formed July 2010):

Play is on sand and grass at Marina Park (San Leandro) two Sundays a month.  We play in any weather condition.  We always welcome more skilled players (B, BB, A, AA) and C/Beginning players aspiring to improve. We play under FIVB Beach rules for doubles and triples. For 4s, 5s, and 6s, the court can play under FIVB Beach or Indoor rules.

There are two SAND courts and two GRASS courts dedicated to DOUBLES: For each surface, the level is BB/A/AA on one court and C/B/higher on the other. The winning team plays again (or has the option to relinquish to the next challengers). Other grass courts are for 3 to 6 players per side, typically C and/or B. Additional courts are available for beginners and children.

Advanced venues: Play is on sand only (mostly doubles) at Ocean Beach (San Francisco), Mission Bay Creek Park (San Francisco), Clark Kerr Campus (Berkeley), Fremont Tennis Center (Fremont), Montara Beach, and Santa Cruz Beach.  We play under FIVB Beach rules for doubles.

Message from Don "I'm setting up one grass net on the tennis court side and will then head for the beach." If you can't find him on one side wait a few minutes and he'll appear.

Simone, the wind forecast for Alameda says 4-6mph. That sounds really good if correct. Annie, see you then. Get a few games in!
