Join us Sunday 11/17/2013, at Montara Beach at 12:00pm. We will be playing Beach Doubles, Reverse Coed Doubles, and one court for beginner to casual level 4s, 5s, or 6s. We can set up between 4 to 7 nets for this venue. Play will go for as long as possible 7pm (dark).
Skilled players (Intermediate level and higher) should attend this event and play doubles. Casual players can play 3s, 4s, 5s, or 6s on one court set up for recreational play. When you RSVP, please indicate the time you will be there. This will help all the players attending. Please come at start time if you can help set up. If you are looking for a carpool, please post a comment so all the players can read it and respond accordingly.
12:00pm: Set up starts. We need as many players as possible to help set up!
12:30-12:45pm: First game starts. Beach doubles and casual intermediate level players and higher should come at this time. Come at 12:00pm if you can help set up.
2:30pm and afterwards: Beginner level players or higher should come at this time or afterwards.
5:30pm Sunset: Play should probably end around this time.
Directions to the beach and nets:
From East Bay: Cross Bay Bridge, 101 South, then 280 South, then Highway 1 (South). After you go through Pacifica, the road goes uphill and you’ll see a sign that Half Moon Bay comes up in a few miles (12?). After about half that distance, the road straightens out. Slow down and look carefully for a sign for Montara Beach; it is next to the La Costanera restaurant (see below for the address). There is a parking lot on each side. Take the stairs down to the beach; volleyball net(s) will be to your right.
From Southeast Bay: 92 West, then Highway 1 North several miles. Look for a sign for Montara Beach; it is next to the La Costanera restaurant (see below for the address). There is a parking lot on each side. Take the stairs down to the beach; volleyball net(s) will be to your right.
You will go to the La Costanera restaurant (Peruvian restaurant). About 100 feet to the north of the restaurant on the beach, you will see a set of volleyball poles in the sand. You will also see stairs leading from the parking lot to the beach on the north side or right side of the restaurant. If you park on the left side parking lot of the restaurant, you will see a path that leads to the beach. Avoid this path for safety reasons. Walk to the right side parking lot and take the stairs to the beach. Here is a map and you can enlarge and find the volleyball poles north of the restaurant on the beach. Select the Satellite view.

About MPV (formed July 2010):
Play is on sand and grass at Marina Park (San Leandro) every Sunday in any weather. We always welcome more skilled players (B, BB, A, AA) and C/Beginning players aspiring to improve. We play under FIVB Beach rules for doubles and triples. For 4s, 5s, and 6s, the court can play under FIVB Beach or Indoor rules.
There are two SAND courts and two GRASS courts dedicated to DOUBLES: For each surface, the level is BB/A/AA on one court and C/B/higher on the other. The winning team plays again (or has the option to relinquish to the next challengers). Other grass courts are for 3 to 6 players per side, typically C and/or B.
Advanced venues: Play is on sand only (mostly doubles) at Ocean Beach (San Francisco), Mission Bay Creek Park (San Francisco), Clark Kerr Campus (Berkeley), Fremont Tennis Center (Fremont), Alameda Beach, Montara Beach, and Santa Cruz Beach. We play under FIVB Beach rules for doubles.
