It seems like every time I start a project I get stuck because there's some part I want a particular way that doesn't exist but I know I could design pretty easily. A 3D printer would get around that, and honestly it would just be really fun to have one regardless. Also, there seems to be serious interest at work after I mentioned how cheap it would be to build one compared with how much we spend to get stuff printed from vendors.
I'm an engineer working in St Paul and I'm interested in 3D printing both for work (we do a lot of prototyping) and for personal use. Also, I just got my MendelMax working this year.
Good so far, hoping to get my first printer built soon so I can contribute more.
