Rosaryville Beginner Ride

What: Beginner-ish Ride

Where: Rosaryville State Park

Note: there is a park fee $3/vehicle; $5/vehicle out-of-state residents (self serve kiosk)

Pace: Approx. 6-8 mph. Casual/Moderate, appropriate for beginners, the pace, at times, will slow down, depending on the group. This will not be recommended for racers, impatient rider’s lol, and speed demons. We will wait often for riders to catch up, maybe take a 5-10min break half way.

Distance: Approx. 10+ miles Duration: Approx. [masked] hours, depending on group dynamics, trail conditions, wait-ups, mechanicals and/or number of breaks.

Directions: Here are some basic directions, the GPS screws it up and takes you somewhere else. Once you get on PA AVE/Route 4 SOUTH you will go about 5 miles and take the exit on the right for Old Crain Highway. Follow that to merge onto 301 South. Once on 301 for 5 miles you will pass a 711 on your right and the Parks Entrance will be on the right. Follow that around to the trail head. Give me a call if you have any questions. Please CALL if you suddenly can't make it or are running a few minutes late. Try to be ready to ride on time (good idea to get there 15 minutes early). If you've never been here, it's a good idea to get here even earlier so you're not late and stressed out. We will try to accommodate everyone, but will leave the lot promptly 15 minutes after the listed time.

I suggest using Waze app to navigate, last time a few riders got stuck in traffic, thankfully Waze diverted me and skipped the traffic.

Bring: Dress for the weather. Helmet (no helmet, no ride) Mountain Bike (hybrid bikes are usually sketchy on trails) Water Snack (salty will help avoid cramps) Multi-Tool (although you can borrow one) Patch Kit Extra Tube

Please read the document "Standard Waiver for Meetup Riders" (found under menu: More > Files > Meetup Ride Waiver) before attending this event. Mountain biking is an inherently dangerous sport, and by attending this ride, you acknowledge and have read, agree to and fully understand the aforementioned waiver. Hope to see you there!

Greg and I are coming but we got stuck in traffic. If we are not there on time, go ahead and leave without us and we will just ride by ourselves.
