Bartow - Fraiser Trail / Lake Hancock

25 mile loop around Lake Hancock in Bartow.

The official start location is actually in Lakeland by the mailing address for the start location is in the parking lot near:

Road & Trail Bicycles
5113 US Highway 98 S
Lakeland, FL 33812

>> SELF SUPPORTED RIDE <<

Route is mostly trail and for the most part lightly traveled roads. You can review the route, print it out, or download a GPX version for your Garmin at: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/714383

Will be doing a 50/50 raffle to benefit Team Red if enough people show up.

The distance will be about 25 miles give or take a mile. This will be an easy ride for all new riders so come out and join me for the ride.

This is a great ride around Bartow mostly on the Fraiser trail and should be a chance to meet some new friends! We will roll out at 10:00 a.m., so get there a bit early, browse the store, in general allow adequate time to get there and get organized (unload bike, inflate tires, etc.). Will do it as a "no drop" ride, meaning we will try to stay together as a group. If we separate, we will regroup at each turn in the route.

As noted - self supported ride, so bring a light snack, some water and bring a friend!!

Please RSVP here or on Facebook or on both!

Drew, Do I send you the photo to upload on this site? Had a really great time... It was another experience that I needed in my life and really felt good inside my vehicle going home... NO WIND!

Either way works - you can email it to me or click on the "+" sign up there next to the ride and upload the high res pic.

A bit on the windy side, but I do like this route and trail. Only thing that could have made it better was if people had RSVP'd and kept to then OR change the RSVP - sucks to expect 10 and have 5 and that was after those that did change RSVPs were subtracted out.

Hope despite the slight turn in weather that everyone is still coming out. Last I checked on Intellicast's weather site it should be chilly, but not TOO cold. For 10AM - they're showing (at this point) that it should be 56 and sunny. Dress a bit warm, but remember riding will generate quite a bit of heat by itself.

Hope to see all 11 of us in the photos after the ride! But if you must bail, please update your attendance plans in the RSVPs.

Just to clarify is the start location at the bike store or across the highway at the parking lot on the trail?

In the parking lot in front of the Road & Trail Bicycle Store - Spread out a bit between there and Publix so we're not crowding out the store's business space.

The date calendar says Sat March 02 at 10am... but the narrative says 'roll out' at 9am. Is this for the upcoming time change? OR was this an oops?
I am planning on attending and after the event it will give me the opportunity to spend some time with family who live in Clermont.
