How Does It Work?

The Toastmaster meeting is a learn-by-doing workshop in which participants hone their speaking and leadership skills in a no-pressure setting.

There is no instructor in a Toastmasters meeting. Instead, members evaluate one another's presentations. This evaluation process is a key part of the program’s success.

Meeting participants also give impromptu speeches (Table Topics) on assigned topics, conduct meetings (Chairperson skills) and develop skills related to timekeeping, grammar and parliamentary procedure.

Members learn communication skills by working through a series of communication and leadership manuals.

Whether you consider yourself a "scared stiff" speaker or someone who is fairly confident speaking to a crowd, Toastmasters can help you further you communication, leadership and mentoring skills.

MacEwan Toastmasters welcomed five new members at our last meeting. We look forward to mentoring these new members in their journey to improving their communication and leadership skills.

Next meeting on November 19th will continue with the theme "Life's Little Stories - Social Media.". We have two prepare speakers on our agenda. Please come out and cheer them on.

Bring a guest, a strong audience challenges our speakers to grow.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
