June 2014 Machine Knitters Guild of Minnesota Meetup

Heidi Travis presents "Circular Socks".  Making socks has long been a popular project on knitting machines.  However, the seaming by hand can take a long time.  Heidi will share the secrets to making socks circular, which eliminates the need for all that hand seaming.  You won't want to miss this lesson!

Bring your questions and your finished projects to the meeting for show and tell! Come join in the fun!

Well, the way I make them doesn't eliminate ALL the seaming, you just don't have to seam the foot. You still need to seam the cuff and Kitchener the toes.

ETA: I have devised a pattern of my own that eliminates seaming the cuff, although there is a small folded hem that will still need seaming.

I am a baby to all of this. I have just set up my new Bond but I am not sure where to go from here. Is this meeting a good place to start?

Sure! There are a couple of us that have Bond machines. In fact, my first machine was a Bond. Either a meeting is a good place to start, or our next knit-in, which will be Saturday, July 26th. Hope to see you soon!

I'm surprised by the level of growth I've seen since becoming an organizer, it's given me more confidence in my abilities.
