Phil D is the organizer for this meetup.  If you need to contact him, please post a message on the wall, or go into his profile and email him through there.

Per MAMM policy, cellphone use by members during a movie is prohibited.  We request that you put away your phones once the previews start. If you need to check your phone for any reason, please exit the auditorium.  Also, please refrain from excessive chatting during the film.  We can discuss the movie afterwards.  Thanks!

I've seen this a couple of times, but not on the big screen.  Now's my chance, and I hope you guys want to see it too!

Amelie (French w/ Eng Subs) (2001)

Movie synopsis:

Bursting with imagination and having seen her share of tragedy and fantasy, Amelie is not like the other girls. When she grows up she becomes a waitress in a Montmartre bar run by a former dancer. Amelie enjoys simple pleasures until she discovers that her goal in life is to help others. To that end, she invents all sorts of tricks that allow her to intervene incognito into other people's lives, including an imbibing concierge and her hypochondriac neighbor. But Amelie's most difficult case turns out to be Nino Quicampoix, a lonely sex shop employee who collects photos abandoned at coin-operated photobooths.

Meetup Location: I will be at the 4th Floor theatre entrance (i.e. not on the ground floor ticket booth area), by the automated ticket machines.  I will have my blue shoulder bag.

Movie meetup time: 6:30pm.  Will wait about 10min.

The movie starts @ 7:00pm.

Movie Running Time: 2h02m

Cost of movie: $6

After the movie: We'll see what people are in the mood for

I look forward to seeing you there!!

It's a quirky, cute wonderful movie, now I can see why so many of you like it so much and see it again and again. Lots of laughs after and Pickle Barrel and of course Chris' wacky photos!

I haven't seen the movie on the screen many times but tv or theatre, it still stands up and charms me. And some of my favourite people at the theatre and Pickles made for a great, friendly conversation. Thanks Phil.
