Kick Ass 2

Movie synopsis:

With high school graduation looming, Dave (aka Kick-Ass) decides to start the world's first superhero team with Mindy (aka Hit Girl). Unfortunately, when Mindy is busted for sneaking out as Hit Girl and is forced to retire, leaving her to navigate the world of high-school mean girls on her own. With no one left to turn to, Dave joins forces with Justice Forever, run by a born-again ex-mobster named Colonel Stars and Stripes. Just as they start to make a real difference on the streets, the world's first super villain, The Mother F%&*^r, assembles his own evil league and puts a plan in motion to make Kick-Ass and Hit Girl pay for what they did to his father. But there's only one problem with his scheme: If you mess with one member of Justice Forever, you mess with them all.

This is what I was thinking about; Liam Neeson burns his skin and can't feel pain, so becomes Darkman-

And Exo-Man-A professor, paralyzed in an attack by Mob hitmen, builds a suit that enables him to walk and fight crime in this 1977 TV movie.

This was a fun evening out, the movie is great if you remember some movies are meant to be fun and entertaining. Not for those who take their films far too seriously. Even the very gratuitous violence pokes fun at itself. I likely would not have ventured out to see this type of flick on my own so, thanks Phil, as always, for organizing such a great night out and a fab way to start the long weekend!

I heard bad reviews for this, so I wasn't expecting it to be as good as the first film, but I enjoyed it! The pacing was different from the Kick Ass 1, and it didn't quite have that comic-book feel like the first movie did, but it still delivered on the action. For a second there I thought Hit Girl was going to break into her Carrie character in the woods (that movie starring Chloe Moretz is coming out later this year). Worth checking out! Thanks everyone for coming out to the film and hanging out after at Jack Astors!
