Do you have any additional info for volunteers (i.e. when/where to meet, and what times we are needed)? Things got crazy at work this past week, and I'm trying to figure out if I can still make this work. Thanks!

      Hi Tricia,
What additional info can we help you with?
I want to make sure you know the meetup description contains the dates, times, and locations of the two main events, but you may have to click to expand it to see everything.

      The gist is this:
Install Fest at Bendyworks, Wednesday August 21: 630-9pm

Workshop at Madison Area Tech College Downtown Campus, Thursday August 22: 9am-430pm

Everyone certainly understands that things come up. I hope it works out and you're able to join us :-)

      Cheers

Sorry, I knew those times were for the workshop, but wasn't sure if volunteers need to be there at other times for any extra for setup and such. Looks like I'm good to attend, just had to do some rearranging. See you Wednesday.

Due to a hectic work schedule, I am unfortunately unable to attend. Hope there is a good turnout!

Forgot to signup for this before it closed. If there are any spots available for me to help, I will be in Madison in time for the Install Fest.

I won't be able to make it Wednesday night, but I'll be there on Thursday.

For anyone that wants to read up on the install fest instructions and curriculum, you can find them here:
    http://workshops.railsbridge.org/resources-for-teachers/

Also, if you're not used to teaching beginners, I highly recommend reading through the "Advice for Teaching Beginners" to set your expectations and help provide the best experience for everyone. Cheers!

Sorry, there's a work schedule conflict.

Is there a set checklist of things to know to help people install Rails? Also, I assume there will be one or a few speakers to the group and then other volunteers will interact with people individually; is that correct?

There is a curriculum and there are small sections of everybody-listen-to-the-front-of-the-room time. Other than that it's largely small group work or one-on-one help.

And as far as installation, Yes! That is something that RailsBridge excels at and why there is a separate Wednesday night event.

Are both locations in the Downtown area?

Yes, they are both a block from the capitol square.

Are you still looking for volunteers? I'm a Rails developer from the Iowa City, IA area, and would love to come and help out.
