November Mad-Railers - Deploying Rails

Introduction to Deploying Rails Applications

In today's market you have several options for deploying your Rails application. All have their pluses and minuses, and are at varying price points. We'll deploy a simple app to 3 different options showing you how to get started with each of thos envrionments.

We'll cover:
- Deploying to Heroku
- Deploying to a shared host (Dreamhost)
- Deploying to a VPS using Puppet to provision the virtual machine
As we work through these options you'll get a taste of each that will help you choose the hosting platform for your next Rails project.
