What would you like to learn or gain from participation in Mad-Railers?

I used to program a lot for my job, and I've been away from that for about two years now. My friend Dave sent me info about this workshop, and I've heard some good things about Rails, so I figured I'd check it out!

What's your background with Rails and similar tech?

I learned some Java and assembly in college and played around with PHP a little bit, programmed in C++ at an internship for about 9 months, and wrote Cache (MUMPS) at my job for 4 years. I've been away from programming for about two years, so probably a little rusty... but it's in there somewhere. I don't really know anything about Rails but I'm excited to learn!

Are you working with Rails professionally?

Nope. :)

Introduction

Hi, I'm Brittany. I work as a phlebotomist at UW Hospital while I'm working on getting into Physician Assistant school; before that I worked in Tech Services at Epic Systems Corp. I have a BSci in engineering, and my favorite hobby is flying.
