Strong Parameters links & Web Guru Job posting

From: Matt B.
Sent on: Monday, March 25, 2013 8:16 PM
Hey Railers,

Great meeting tonight. Here's a link to the railscast on strong parameters, where Ryan presents an interesting pattern for grouping your allowed parameters code. (Note this particular episode is a "Pro" episode, but if you're not already a subscriber, I highly recommend it for this and many, many other topics)

If you're interested in checking out strong parameters in your Rails 3 project, you can do so with the strong_parameters gem itself:
(there are also instructions in the readme on how specifically to turn on strong parameters on a model-by-model basis or for all models in your app)

Secondly, I'll take the opportunity for a shameless plug for our job posting at MEI. Like I mentioned at the meeting, this is more of a basic web person than a Rails programmer, though it would be a perfect fit for someone without a lot of Rails experience who'd like to get some exposure to it and start to work with it professionally.

Of course, if anyone knows someone less Ruby/Rails specific who might be interested, please consider letting them know about the position and encourage them to get in contact with me ([address removed]) or Kristi ([address removed]).

Thanks all!
