The FREE I'm Board Netrunner League play begins Monday! Welcome to season one! We'll be keeping track of player ratings until March 4th, the last day of the season. Here's how it works:
How to join: Just ask! So long as you have a tournament legal Runner and Corporation deck, you can play.
When to play: Official league nights are Mondays starting at 6:00, though if you and another player would like to show up early to get a game in, you're more than welcome.
How many rounds per night: Two at most. If you only have enough time for one full round, that's perfectly fine; you'll still get points toward your player rating for that game. Keep in mind, though, you get more points for playing more games.
Round structure: Players choose who they challenge to a match each night. You may only challenge someone you haven't played against that night and you must challenge a player that's closest to your player rating. A full match consists of two games in which players take turns as the Runner and the Corporation. If you win a game, you get 10 match points. If you lose, you get match points equal to the agendas you scored that game. After these two games, the player with the most match points wins the match. There will be no time limits; we're keeping it casual.
Player ratings: You earn a point to your player rating just for showing up and another point for starting a match. For each game you win in a match you gain two points. You gain an additional two for winning the whole match or one point if the match was a tie. The most you can earn each night is 15 points.
Fabulous Prizes: Each night, the player that earns the most player rating points gets a full set of seven faction-themed deck dividers (awarded only once per player). After the last games on March 4th, the players with the two highest ratings get a full set of faction-themed, acrylic time tokens. The highest rated player gets a sweet Netrunner playmat!
Couldn't get two games in? Can't make it at all on Monday? We can work with that. If you and another player want to play a match between Mondays, come on in anytime there's an open table (call ahead to make sure) and report your results to whoever's on duty and we'll update your player rating. Fine print: league matches MUST be played in the store and the automatic point for showing up for Monday game nights WILL NOT be given for matches played between Mondays. Is fine print ever in all caps? No? Oh.
Let the games begin!
