Ride the IronMan Wi bike loop...

I'll be doing this 39 mile loop most Sunday's from here on out. I like to get a fairly early start, especially weeks that I have my kids. I can ride... they can sleep! If I can be home by 10:30am... they don't even know I've been gone! :)

For me, this week will be a 70 mile ride... however riders often do more or less by adding/subtracting to the 39 mile loop.
I average typically about 15-16 mph for this loop... a little faster as the training goes along.

Get ready for the hills!

I'd like to be on the saddle by 6:30am at the latest please.

We'll park at Hometown Junction Park... it's on Main Street and the IM bike loop. If anyone wants to do a brick... the Military Ridge bike path is right there for a soft packed limestone trail.  There is also water and bathrooms right there.

AND... Chocolate Shop ice cream shop is right across the street... Perfect!

If you are running late please call/text me at[masked] and we'll try to wait.

    'Twas the epitome of Meetup...
A couple of new members & 4 "regulars" getting together to ride a bike.
Each one with a different distance goal.
    Lots of support.
Kelle rode the IM loop for the first time and got advice within 5 minutes of introducing herself! ;)
    Great job everyone.

Ben - I plan on a transition run 2-3 miles, were you going to go longer?

Yes, this week I was going to extend the to a half. I think I'll bike from home again. Two laps of the arb is 13. I'll try to meet the group out there.

80 Bike then 13 Run sounds like a logically insane step towards our goal or the IM... but I'm at a point where I don't know if I could push that:)

Oh, I see, note to self: READ DOWN. Looks like a 6:30 start, and somebody will be there to go 50. Sounds good.

Anybody up for going on a 50-miler? I need to do that this Sunday. There are a few start times mentioned, still meeting at 6:30?

Sounds good, thanks! I'll plan to get there early to get setup.

Hey Kelle... so glad you are joining us! We try to be in the saddle by 6:30am. Meet earlier (6:15am) gives time for introductions, airing tires, water bottles, helmets, etc. Plan on more time if you need it.

Hi! I've never done the loop but I plan on being there Sunday. I am hoping to go 40-50ish miles, so I will be doing one lap. Looking forward to meeting everyone! And just to clarify is the start time 6:15 or 6:30am?

Brian, I'd like to do 80, plus a run. Anybody doing a run at all? If not, I'll bike from Madison and run when I get back here.

Sorry- I can no longer make this- have a great ride!

I will bring a bathroom scale. Maybe we should note that if you only want to do 38-40 miles, we will be returning to the cars in the middle of any longer ride (I have 85 miles slotted for Sunday:()... I did the loop today 7/4 and there were TONS of riders all around - great day.

I moved it forward to 6:30am Brian. I hope to do 70 but I may push on and do the loop twice!
Remember everyone to bring enough fluids and nutrition as the rides get longer. I usually keep mine in a cooler in the car, pull into the parking lot... grab & go!
Does anyone have a bathroom scale they could bring along. It is a useful tool as the rides get longer... weigh before and after to see how much weight is lost during the ride... usually fluid! It can really help to identify if you are drinking enough on these training rides so that we can make adjustments now instead of on the BIG day!

Hey Chris - my schedule has finally evened out and I have a long ride scheduled for Sunday... are you still starting by 7:15? How far is everyone needing to ride?
