We are a group of women who love to hike, bike, ski, kayak, snowshoe, camp, and whatever fun outdoor activity you like to do.
I started this group to meet other women outdoor enthusiasts and to promote healthy lifestyles for women.
It is open to all women: lesbian, bi, trans, straight and questioning.
We welcome all races and ages.
Diversity is a good thing.
We are a safe, respectful group that plays in the outdoors and understands that nature is the best medicine.
Here are a few things to keep in mind:
Members are expected to chip in for meet-up costs. Fees will be noted if there is one. Of course, if you are out of work, please do not feel pressured to pay anything. Our sponsor, Fontana Sports, pays for our web site costs. Thank you Fontana. In return, please support them.
We expect members to abide by trail and park rules and to be safe at all times. That means keeping your dog on a leash if the park rules say so. Member may be removed from the group is these rules are not followed.
We encourage members to lead trips. It's fun and easy. This group will thrive if leadership grows. Check the discussion tab for a "How to plan a Meetup."
We expect members to be courteous. Please change your RSVP to let us know if you can't come. Event organizers appreciate this. We do not have a no show policy yet, but we will start one if no shows become a problem.
We have fun. If it's not fun, then what's the point.
Kids and dogs are welcome at meet ups if posted in the description. We believe that the event host has the right to say whether kids and dogs are appropriate for a meet up. If you're not sure, please contact the meet up host. Sometimes, they forget to include this.
We are allied with the LGBT Meet-up group and the Madison Outdoor Meet-up Group. We encourage participation in all groups and at times will cross list events.
See you on the trail!
