March Discussion - MISS PEREGRINE'S HOME FOR PECULAR CHILDREN

For March, we will be reading an interesting selection, Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs. (Nominated by DeeAnn Jensen.) If you go looking to purchase it, you will find it in the "young adult literature" section.

A mysterious island. An abandoned orphanage. A strange collection of very curious photographs.

It all waits to be discovered in Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, an unforgettable novel that mixes fiction and photography in a thrilling reading experience. As our story opens, a horrific family tragedy sets sixteen-year-old Jacob journeying to a remote island off the coast of Wales, where he discovers the crumbling ruins of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. As Jacob explores its abandoned bedrooms and hallways, it becomes clear that the children were more than just peculiar. They may have been dangerous. They may have been quarantined on a deserted island for good reason. And somehow—impossible though it seems—they may still be alive.

Yes, at a westside location, but tomorrow I need to confirm that the space is still available. Should be posting the location in the next day or so and will email those that have RSVPd.
Good tip below - thanks for sharing!

For those who are looking to buy this book, Half Price Books bookstore is offering a 50% off coupon on the highest item you buy. You might be able to get a good deal! I would call and see if they can get one shipped to either the W or E store. I got lucky
with the W side having a copy. Melanie.
Has a decision been made where you will be meeting?

If you haven't picked a location yet, can I suggest the Sequoya Branch Library on Tokay right off a Midvale, they are pretty large... they are open until 9.

Yes, Nona, I believe it will be a west side location! We've met on the east side several times now, so its only fair.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
