Here’s the Basics
Our Intro Level class for July is Rumba (next on the list by request). From one of my dance references: The Rumba is a dance that tells a story of love and passion between a strong, male lover and a coy, teasing woman. Full of sensual movements, the Rumba is considered by many to be the sexiest of the ballroom dances. The Rumba is a very slow, serious, romantic dance with flirtation between the partners. The dance is fun to watch, as many of its basic dance figures of the dance have a teasing theme in which the lady flirts with and then rejects her male partner, often with apparent sexual aggression.
No need to RSVP “No” if you have no interest (only if you change from a Yes).
No new members after the second class. By the third class, we have a lot we have learned and to have new folks join is very difficult.
This is a dance for which you should have proper shoes. Women in ballroom heels, men in proper dance shoes. The Cuban motion we will learn relies in foot placement. NO street shoes!
This class is run by Tempo Ballroom and Latin dance studio and there is a $10 a class charge or you can purchase a 10-class pass of $85 good for any group class or simple, single class you may take.
Please RSVP for all the sessions so we can attempt to maintain balance or better yet, grab a partner (and bring two friends)!! Please keep your RSVPs up to date and check in, I'm marking out the no shows...
