Snowshoe at Pope Farm Park

This is a great event put on by our local Sierra Club. Enjoy a pleasant day of snowshoeing or hiking at Pope Farm Park, located on Old Sauk Road outside the Town of Middleton (2 miles west of Beltline). Meet in the parking lot near the trailhead at 10 a.m. and snowshoe or hike for about 2 hours. Pope Farm Park has about 7 miles of trails with variety for novices to experienced snowshoers. Families welcome. Snowshoes can be rented at REI and Rutabaga.

Well, I ended up not putting on the snowshoes as I am still a novice. Anyway, I am glad I elected to hike, instead of snowshoeing, with several others as I probably would have ended up taking the snowshoes off and carrying them. It was a wonderful workout, no problem working up a sweat - I like that. There were some superb views from the high ground; I plan to go back in the spring/early summer to take in some of that natural beauty. Thank you.

Pope Farm was a beautiful place to hike. The people were friendly and it was nice to meet Energizers, Outdoor members and Sierrans. Good job Bill!
