Hike on the Lodi Segment of the Ice Age Trail

This hike is being held in conjunction with the Wisconsin John Muir Chapter of the Sierra Club and is being led by David Smith. The hike officially starts at 10 AM, but if you'd like to carpool from Madison, please be at Hill Farms State Office parking lot by 9 AM. David Smith will also serve as the Event Host for this meetup.

Join us for a 6 to 7 mile hike along the Lodi Segment of the Ice Age Trail. This is a very scenic section of the Trail overlooking wetland areas and with good views of the glaciated landscape, and it contains restored prairie and woodland areas. This will be a hilly and moderately difficult hike. If driving to the start of the hiking location, take Hwy 113 north of Madison and go approximately 2.5 miles past the Village of Dane. Turn left on Lee Rd for 1 mile, then north on Lodi Springfield Rd. for about .8 miles to the parking area on the left with the kiosk. If carpooling from Madison, meet at 9 AM at the Hill Farm State Office Building (DOT) west parking lot on Sheboygan Ave.

If you RSVP for this hike, please be sure you are in good enough physical condition to hike a hilly distance of 6 to 7 miles.

Hope to see you there!

Hi, everyone! This Saturday, David Smith will be ably leading the Lodi Ice Age Trail hike. He is really the one who will serve as this meetup's "Event Host," and he will do an excellent job. He will meet you at the Hill Farms State Office parking lot at 9 AM for carpooling to the hiking location. He has room for three people in his car. The hike will finish at approximately 12 noon, and he will offer folks the option of going to lunch somewhere afterwards if there is interest. If you go to lunch, you will probably make it back to Madison around 2 PM. If you have any questions, please give him a call at: (608)[masked] or send him an email at: [masked]

Regrettably, I won't be able to join you on this hike because I will be leading a run for the Run Club meetup group. I wish I could be in two places at once, but that will not be a possibility until cloning techniques are perfected. :) Have fun, everyone, and I will see you all soon.

Sounds fun, but I wouldn't enjoy walking that far.
