Beach party!!! Kid friendly event

Let's have a beach party. Governor Nelson State Park is a great park. Large play area, lots of shade trees, tables, sand beach, volleyball, parking. Bring your kiddos, bring your beach duds and decor. For food, let's do potluck style. Who doesn't love a good potluck? If you have yard games or beach toys, bring them along. I'll plan on getting there early to save some tables and set up...I have some beach-y decorations. Look for the blow up palm tree cooler and colorful tablecloths, hopefully in a shady area. Please include the dish you will bring in your RSVP. BYOB, sunscreen, bug spray and tableware.

The weather cooperated and the beach looked great to play in! It was a very nice time to visit and just hang out. Good to see everyone! Oh and did I mention GREAT FOOD ALL. :)

I'll try to get tables as close to the play area as possible so it's easier to keep an eye on the littler munchkins

I have a portable gas grill - just bought it used and I haven't tested it to make sure it works. I will bring it though just in case we need it. I won't be there immediately at 2 pm though. Probably not till 3.

I have a camp stove I can bring but I do not have a portable grill. Does someone have one they want to bring so people can grill? There are a few grills in the park but no guarantee one will be open. If someone is interested in me bringing the camp stove, let me know

Just reminding everyone that you need a daily or annual state park vehicle pass for Governor Nelson State Park. There's a drop box when you first enter the park where you can leave your $7 for a daily pass (bring cash) or purchase your annual vehicle sticker ahead of time on the WI State Park websites. I'm not sure on the office hours, but they are VERY limited, so you probably can't purchase the annual sticker when you arrive.
