The Wisconsin Historical Museum is a true Capitol Square gem, and it will be hosting a fascinating exhibit featuring elaborate gowns from the 1880s to 1980s worn by some of Wisconsin's most prominent ladies.
Since the late 19th century, wives and daughters of Wisconsin politicians and industrialists have sported exquisite and expensive attire from famous New York and Paris designers. These Wisconsin luminaries include members of the Pabst, Kohler, Fairchild, Knowles, Mead, and other families. These ladies dressed to meet royalty, attend their husbands' inaugurations, and host grand events and galas.
"Wisconsin Women of Style" showcases the very finest of these historical garments from the collections at Mount Mary University and the Wisconsin Historical Society.
Let's meet in the lobby of the Wisconsin Historical Museum to view this incredible exhibit together. A suggested donation of $4 for admittance is encouraged. Afterwards, we will select a downtown spot where we can enjoy a delicious, leisurely lunch.
Hope to see you there!
