FREE Art Lecture, Show, and Reception at the Chazen Museum of Art

The Chazen Museum of Art is pleased to present “Theater of the Figure: Ceramics and the Art Collection of Stephen and Pamela Hootkin,” a presentation by Garth Clark and Mark Del Vecchio, specialists in modern and contemporary ceramic art. The two will discuss the artwork in The Human Condition: The Stephen and Pamela Hootkin Collection of Contemporary Ceramic Sculpture as part of the show’s opening celebration.

Clark and Del Vecchio, longtime art dealers and friends of the Hootkins, were present when the collection was born. As both experts and insiders, the two will discuss the collection and the collectors of this extraordinary group of artworks. Following the presentation at 6:30 p.m. is a celebratory reception with refreshments, live music, and a preview of the show.

Please meet me in the lobby of the new part of the Chazen Museum by 5:15 p.m. so we may take our seats in the auditorium for the lecture at 5:30 p.m. We can enjoy the art show and reception in the gallery at 6:30 p.m. This is a FREE event. Hope to see you there!

Loved the lecture and the fascinating exhibit! Will be back to the Chazen many times to view it all--very extensive collection. Very nice to see everyone. Sorry I had to leave a bit early, but I have a big day at work on Friday. Thanks for the ride home, Suzanne! :)
