An Evening of Discovery and Wonder followed by cocktails at Steenbock's

Only one year ago, a fabulous new facility of scientific discovery, beauty, and wonder opened in the heart of the UW campus. It is here that the secrets behind the potential healing power of stem cells are becoming known. It is here that new medical devices are being developed to deliver this healing power to damaged tissues and organs. It is here that video games are designed to teach people of all ages about science, making it more fascinating and accessible to everyone. What is this marvelous place? Why, it's the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery! On Friday evening, January 13 at 5 PM, I would love to lead a special VIP, all-access tour for the Energizers. If you've ever wondered what's inside the "Discovery Building," I'd be happy to show you. After the tour, we can meet for a cocktail and appetizers at Steenbock's on Orchard, one of Madison's hottest new restaurants. It is located in the Discovery building, and its Chef Michael Pruett has been named one of Madison's best new chefs.

Here are a few more details:

Where to park: The best option is probably Lot 20. After 4:30, it is FREE and open to the public.

Where to meet for the tour: At the Visitor's Information Desk on the main floor near the main entrance on Orchard Street.

Time tour departs: We should start gathering at 5:00, and I will wait until 5:15 to lead people around the building.

Duration of tour: About 45 minutes.

Cocktail hour: We can meet at Steenbock's at 6 PM for cocktails. Hope to see you there!

I was hoping to make it tonight, but then my schedule changed last minute. I hope this is offered again!

This event is FREE (except for cocktails and food), and if you arrive after 5:15, you will be able to catch up if we're still on the first floor. The first floor is the public space that does not require security access. Once the tour group leaves the first floor, which I take about 15 to 20 minutes to cover, you need to be accompanied by someone with security access. This is an event I can easily offer again if folks cannot make it on January 13.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
