Celebrate St. Patrick's Day with Trinity Academy of Irish Dance

Happy St. Patrick's Day! You've seen them on Johnny Carson, Good Morning America, and countless local news broadcasts. Now it's time to see Trinity Academy of Irish Dance live in the toe-tapping, hand-clapping flesh at Madison's best Saturday spot for kids and families: Overture's Kids in the Rotunda! This wonderful event is FREE and is held in the Rotunda, lower level of the Overture Center. It has a running time of 45 minutes. Afterwards, we can try and squeeze in somewhere downtown for lunch. My favorite St. Patrick's Day spot of Brocach's Irish Pub will likely be bursting at the seams, but we can try Cooper's Tavern, The Old Fashioned, or the Great Dane if Brocach's is too chaotic.

After the performance folks gathered upstairs before going to lunch. I mentioned to one woman that I was going to the ladies' room and would be right back. When I returned, everyone had left! I hadn't heard exactly where "on the square" people were eating but thought certainly at least one person would wait for me. I hope future meetups are more considerate. This was a bummer!

This was such a fun and festive day. Thank you to everyone who attended, aswell as for your patience in grabbing a nice lunch at the Great Dane afterwards. Lots and lots of people downtown! :)

I can see a little from the rotunda, when the dancers get near the front of the stage.

I'm looking forward to seeing all of you this Saturday! Please go directly to the Rotunda in the lower level of the Overture Center. I will get there by 10:30 and will have a helium balloon with a shamrock on it so you can find the group. This is a popular performance, so you may want to try and get there before 11:00. There is seating on the floor/carpeted stairs of the Rotunda. We will try to find lunch at noon, but places aren't taking reservations. The parade starts at 1:30.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
