Per request from meetup members (thank you for your input!), I have set up a fall camping at Yellowstone Lake State Park. Yellowstone is a beautiful area with a lake, swimming, fishing, bluffs, hiking, etc. It does have a boat landing. There are multiple group campsites (electric), so we can expand easily if we choose/need. I believe there are pit toilets (or flush?) nearby. There is a bathroom with showers on the campground also, which you will most likely have to drive to if you want, but it is accessible. It would be nice to enjoy the beautiful fall colors and sit around a campfire at night with a good group of people. :) Pack warm just in case. It is better to have layers and then adjust as needed. It could be warm in the day and cool off at night...but Sept is usually pretty beautiful....beauty and weather-wise.
This is a family friendly event and will be in conjunction with the Energizers. My almost-10-year-old son will be camping with me. He is a camping fanatic. :)
On Saturday, let's pitch in for a group supper or potluck. I will also bring some extra for breakfast if anyone would like to join. I can bring a dozen eggs and some pancake mix and syrup. If anyone has wood they can bring, that would help. We could also use a campstove...or more than one. I have a tripod and an electric griddle.
Cost will be $10/person for the whole weekend. Site is available to us as early at 3.
