Hometown: Chicago 'burbs
January 10, 2010
I think the widest variey of events is great. Not everyone will be interested in everything but a dozen folks makes for a great event. In keeping with the title of the group, events should be "Energetic" i.e. not just bar meetups.
Usually either dancing or good food and a beverage after some physical event. No one place in particular (but I love a good burger!!) and being from Chicago, I NEED pizza.
I've been in almost every aspect of business, a student, a teacher, a paramedic/firefighter/rescue specialist and diver. Curently I am the State Captain for the Patriot Guard Riders, we provide Honor Guards and escorts for military and veteran's funerals (as well as Welcome Home events).
Tired of the "relaxed" nature of the area. I currently do Aikido, 2-3 times a week, ride motorcycles/bicycles, dance 2-3 times a week and will be starting guitar lessons soon. I need to get back to running but it would be better with a partner.
Great group. I've heard the same thing over at a number of events and I think it's key to making this work for each member and that is the willingness to risk getting out, opening up, and trying things. Maybe dinners, bowling, dancing, music... Even if you try to connect with a few people and make one new friend every time, you'll have a ball (and the food is WONDERFUL)!!
