Mickey's Tavern is located in that sweet old turreted building with the worn paint job that sits on the west side of the very end of Willy St. (where it turns into Winnebago, then Atwood.)
They offer what is, hands down, the best burger I have had in this town: the Mickey's Burger: 1/3 lb beef burger mixed with spicy giardiniera (italian hot pickled vegetables), with chipotle aioli, tomato, and buttermilk-battered crispy onions. Served on the perfect bun.
The Sexy Fries are also quite popular: handcut fries with truffle oil, parmesan cheese, and chives with crushed peppers.
Then there is the atmosphere: a walled outdoor patio, an old-school bar room, or a back room with retro couches and lamps and a pool table. (Food can be served in any location.)
Like every Meet & Geek, this is just an opportunity to come out and lecture/argue about your personal area of geeky obsession - or just drink a beer (or root beer) and chat nonchalantly while those around you lecture/debate about their favorite areas, enlightening you in the process. I always learn the esoteric, the fascinating, the crucially relevant at M&G's. And I laugh a lot.
I promise you will have fun.
I can promise you this because if you are NOT having fun, I will do whatever I can to achieve that result. Other than giving you money. We can work together on a mutually-agreeable solution.
I could go through the whole argument I laid out last time (You could stay home and play D&D/watch Dr. Who/etc. or you could come out and meet your new DM/LARP player/soulmate/etc.) but I think you'll remember the basic idea.

See you on the flipside, my friends...
