Doctor Who Convention (TARDIS)

Come celebrate the 50 year anniversary of Doctor Who by attending the Chicago Tardis Doctor Who Convention. Currently they have 3 of the past old-school doctors scheduled to appear: Peter Davison, Colin Baker, and Paul McGann along with quite a few of the past companions, and lots of other Whovian guests.

Anyone who wants to attend will need to purchase their own registration directly from Chicago Tardis (registration info below) and will also need to obtain their own transportation & lodging (lodging info below).

What the meetup provides: an opportunity to use the comments section to help you hook up with others for sharing lodging or transportation... and people to do things with once you get there. We can meet in the evenings for dinner, share panels together... use the comments section to let us know what you would like to do when we get there.

I went to this last year and it was really fun. I loved seeing the characters in person, hearing their stories, getting to have my photo taken in the Tardis, and learning how to make a Dalek. (Note that we were told by the Dalek makers last year they wanted to try and get a world record for the most Daleks in one place... so bring your Dalek along if you've got one. :-P

Registration Info:
3 day General admission = $85, One day admission is $40-=$50 depending on the day.

I'll be wearing my 4th Doctor scarf tomorrow (Friday)... Don't have a bow tie, but I was thinking a fez might be nice.... wonder if they will have any good ones in the dealer room?

Checked the website today and they had this info: "Friday and 3-Day At-the-door tickets will be available on Friday morning; Sunday tickets will be available on Sunday morning. No tickets will be sold on Saturday– we are sold out for that day."

Well...darn. If I did not have to work Friday, I would have selected the 3 day option. Will see about Sunday-only then.

Hopefully me posting a link to the "Don't Blink: A Doctor Who Quiz" (Sat. Nov 16th) here won't be seen as a terrible awful thing, since I can only assume it's something you would like to know about if you don't already: https://www.facebook.com/events/527707100650839/ Apologies in advance if need be, and if not, I'm looking forward to seeing some of you folks out there :)

Unforunately, I can't view the Facebook page for the quiz -- I'm one of the three people left who don't use Facebook, so I can't login. Could someone please post the info here?

C'mon, Doctor Who fans, I know you're out there! you won't want to miss this one: *three* different Doctors are slated to appear: Peter Davison (#5 and my Doctor), Colin Baker (#6, aka "Old Sixy") and Paul McGann (#8). That's the first time this has happened at a Chicago Who con since 1985! Lots of other great guests, too.
