Gamehole Con

** Posted by Geekery on behalf of the GHC organizers (Alex is a Geekery member). **

As hopefully all of you know by now, there is a new gaming con coming to Madison this fall – Gamehole Con. Gamehole Con will take place November 1-3 at the Madison Sheraton. Unlike all of the other gaming conventions in the region, this con is a focused tabletop gaming convention.

Gamehole Con is being run by a long standing group of Madison area gamers – The Gamehole. I am one of the original members of The Gamehole. We have decided to take this on because we are tired of the fact that we do not have a truly great gaming con in the Madison area. Sure, there are some other fun cons around, but they are not focused on tabletop gaming.

It maybe makes sense to tell you what Gamehole Con is not. There will be no con dance. There will be no costume contest. Not that there is anything wrong with any of that, but that is not what this con will be all about. This con is for the tabletop gamer.

We hope that the Madison Company of Gamers will support our con. You guys run some great games and we hope that many of you will submit games to run at our con. Event submission is open right now.

Please consider submitting your favorite board game to run at Gamehole Con. We have some tremendous GM/Judge rewards.

Our goal is simply to create and build a truly great gaming con. We hope that we will have your support in this effort.

1.  Registration (buying your ticket) closes on Oct 15th.  I am so sorry for the short notice.  I didn't realize that registration closed prior to the beginning of the con.

2.  I'm posting the meetup, but I will NOT be organizing any group activities at the con - in other words, this is not really a group Geekery meetup - you should sign up for the games that look most interesting to YOU.

It was a good time. Lots of interesting people, games, and events. Next year should be even better!

Yes folks - to be clear, it always was possible to register for Gamehole Con on site. The registration desk will open at 7:00 am on Friday morning and will be open each day of the Con until approximately 8:00 pm. Attendees can either buy a weekend badge or a specific day badge. Weekend badges are $40 and day badges are $20. We have so many events, games and things going on that I simply cannot list them here. Please either check out our site ( or Facebook page for particulars. Or, please post a question here and I will do my best to answer it.

Thanks and we hope to see all of you this weekend!

Please note: GAMEHOLE CON HAS EXTENDED REGISTRATION/TICKET SALES SO THAT TICKETS CAN BE PURCHASED ON SITE THIS WEEKEND. This is a change in policy from what I originally posted in the meetup description, so I wanted to be sure everyone was aware. Have fun.

Do I have to book a room to sleep in if I'm going to this event?
