Dungeons & Dragons

I recently purchased a weird little module called Qelong published by Lamentations of the Flame Princess and written by Kenneth Hite (prolific Cthulhu Mythos gaming author). Here's the blurb on the back...

Two barely conceivable beings have fought a war for a generation over Sajavedra, a legendary land far to the southeast. They wish to claim its rich harvests of souls and fields, its intricate network of ley lines and temples for their own. They have devastated it utterly. A forgotten weapon in their war, a neglected sorcery fallen from a distracted archon's attention, lies in the Qelong River valley at the edge of this near-cosmic battlefield.

Should be fun! 3rd level pre-generated characters will be provided. 8 players max. Decided to hold this meetup at the Sequoia branch because there's a little more room and the Central library's chair armrests drive me mad!

Had a blast. Looking forward to spending all that gold.

The only logical thing I can think of first. Something to store it all in. If it's 10 gold per pound and I'm a halfling... there is no logical way thst I even got out of there with 3000 gold in the first place.

That's true. Use the gold to send away for a master thief who can train you until you've reached 10th level and then go rob the king or something.

    If anyone's interested, I did a little write-up of yesterday's session: http://vengersatanis.blogspot.com/2014/08/qelong-hard-road-out-of-hell.html

Awesome! Should have scaled the wizard back, the fireball, or made you guys 2nd level by the time you faced him at the end. Other than that, I think the session turned out great.

Just saw that this is a different location than the library located next door to my apartment, so I'll attempt the forty minute bus ride, unless anyone is capable of carpooling from near the capital.

Sorry about that. Yeah, it's at the Sequoia branch this time. Wanted to switch it up. Also, they have more space and better chairs.

You still need a ride there?

This DOES make my mind alight with fire. :D And you've given the two weeks notice, so if I miss out it's simply because I can't do it or I'm just silly. Things ARE beginning to get tight, so I will try and make right with all this so I can see y'all again. ;)

Sounds good, man. I hope to see you then!

Finding myself in the midst of a filming project this day. While it IS starting at 7:30 AM and you would think I would be done before noon, the planning and very likely execution has me thinking otherwise. Would of at the very least liked to see this play out, despite the RSVP closing. May find myself lucky...hate playing by ear. :P

Did you not cap the meetup? says 8 players max, but 12 people now signed up...

I'll bow out to make room.

Hey, Robert. At least wait until the middle of next week. I've never scheduled a meetup where everyone who RSVPed actually came.

Quick question on rules - should we be up on LotFP specifically, or is general D&D/d20 knowledge enough?

You don't have to know about any tabletop roleplaying games. But if you already know AD&D, then you basically know 5th edition (which we'll be using).

That's good to know. I haven't played for about 10 years now so I'll need some refreshing. I've been wanting to get back into it for the longest time though.

I'm surprised by the level of growth I've seen since becoming an organizer, it's given me more confidence in my abilities.
