How do you relate to the term "geekery" or "geek"?

I love science fiction books, shows, and movies, comics, gaming (tabletop, esp. RPGs, and some video games), and am working on my first cosplay project. I am also a big history geek, from playing Civilization to visiting Museums and listening to Hardcore History. Finally, I am a wine and beer geek; I homebrew and make my own wine and love learning about the science behind both.

What are some of the activities that you enjoy doing? (You may wish to share, in particular, any that might be considered geeky.)

Tabletop and video gaming (love RPGs and currently playing Eve); enjoying sci-fi and action movies, shows, and books; reading comics; brewing beer and wine; visiting museums; stargazing; cycling and running; geocaching (newbie).

What are a few of your favorite things? (Book titles, games, places, movies, tv shows, restaurants, band names, brown-paper-packages-tied-up-with-string, etc.)

Firefly (the show, film, and Serenity RPG); MouseGuard; Eve; Guild Wars 2; Small World; Munchkin; Risk: Legacy; the Redwall series; vinyl records; chiptunes; Belgian-style beers; weird northern Italian wines; the Umami food truck; tacos and beer.

In joining Geekery, what type of meet-ups are you hoping to find? (Gaming, evenings out, new restaurants, trivia, movies, outdoor stuff, museums, etc.)

All of the above!

Introduction

I just moved to Madison from Buffalo, New York, and I'm looking to meet fellow runners, cyclists, geeks, foodies, and beer/wine aficionados.
