How do you relate to the term "geekery" or "geek"?

I see geekery as embracing a subject and pouring over the details of it. I take geek as someone with an enthusiasm for what they like.

What are some of the activities that you enjoy doing? (You may wish to share, in particular, any that might be considered geeky.)

I like figuring things out, watching movies, binge watching television, reading, and listening to podcasts. I like video games but I tend to prefer FPS. I have made myself enjoy cooking so that I will do it, and I actually enjoy canning.

What are a few of your favorite things? (Book titles, games, places, movies, tv shows, restaurants, band names, brown-paper-packages-tied-up-with-string, etc.)

I love Adventure Time, Doctor Who, Walking Dead, Archer, Flight of the Concords, The Wire, and so many more. My favorite movie is Doctor Strangelove and I love everything by Miyazaki. I love Bioshock and Dead Space. I listen to podcasts all day, especially educational ones and bad movie ones. I like history, comedy, books, documentaries, and brainy stuff. Some of my favorite books are Homicide: A Year on the Streets, Watership Down, World War Z, Slaughterhouse 5, and poetry by Pablo Neruda. I am addicted to Cracked and imgfave, and I love my cat.

In joining Geekery, what type of meet-ups are you hoping to find? (Gaming, evenings out, new restaurants, trivia, movies, outdoor stuff, museums, etc.)

I really just hope for a causal environment to meet people and have some fun. I would like a movie night, especially a MST3K style Bad Movie night. I think trivia and museum trips would be a lot of fun. I would like parties for TV show premieres, and going to see stand up comedians.

Hello I'm Sarah. I keep up my geekiness by always trying to learn new things.
