We welcome individuals anywhere on the geek spectrum: from those merely harboring secret geeky inclinations to those who obsessively fantasize about transforming into some sort of mad scientist, superhero, or archmage.

As a geek, you will be invited to wicked board game nights, awesome museum trips, drinking & debauchery outings, movie screenings, food orgies, and nice, clean, wholesome outdoor romps. You will also be encouraged to create your own fun by suggesting new activities for the group to enthusiastically join.

You may spend more time with computer than you do with your wife; you may find the idea of large libraries hot; you may actually leave a board game with the perception that you are still in Middle Earth; perhaps you know the definition of “sapiosexual”; or you may simply feel a bit socially awkward.

New Harassment Policy Note:  Geekery is NOT a singles/dating/sex-seeking group.  It is true that some geeks have found their special other geek here, but it is not our purpose.  We want everyone to feel totally comfortable (taking into account some degree of social awkwardness) at every meet-up, regardless of their size or gender or sexual orientation, etc. When this does not happen, when one person is made to feel unsafe, unhappy, insecure, unwelcome, etc., the entire group dynamic is affected.  Therefore, if I learn that a member has clearly stepped over a second member's boundaries or made them feel unsafe in some way, and a request by the second member fails to stop the pattern, I will ban the first member.  I want to preserve the spirit of freedom from the very harassment - social, sexual, whatever - that geeks have always faced in the "real world."  I want YOU to feel free and safe to be YOU.
