How do you relate to the term "geekery" or "geek"?

How do I not relate to it? It is a word I hear almost every day directed in my direction.

What are some of the activities that you enjoy doing? (You may wish to share, in particular, any that might be considered geeky.)

Some of the geekier things I have done recently include reading a Lawrence Krauss book about the quantum origins of the universe. I have been known to attend Friday Fright Night (horror movies) at a comic book store in Oshkosh. Last year I taught my 7-year old twin niece and nephew to make a battery out of two lemons. Anything scientific intrigues me. I own a foosball table and periodically host foosball and microbrew socials, including some live acoustic music. Maybe I will host one for this group?

What are a few of your favorite things? (Book titles, games, places, movies, tv shows, restaurants, band names, brown-paper-packages-tied-up-with-string, etc.)

Books: "A Universe From Nothing" by Lawrence Krauss, "Jesus Interrupted" by Bart Ehrman, "A Clockwork Universe" by Ed Dolnick. Movies: "Troll Hunter" and "Dead Snow." TV Shows: "Sherlock." Events: Free Thought Book Club and Science Pub.

In joining Geekery, what type of meet-ups are you hoping to find? (Gaming, evenings out, new restaurants, trivia, movies, outdoor stuff, museums, etc.)

Talk nerdy to me!
