Presentation Night

You can volunteer to present or come to listen. Each presenter gets 5 minutes to tell us about a thing they've made (software/robots/etc); then the audience gets 5 minutes to ask questions.

After the meetup, people trickle out. If there wasn't time to ask your question during the 5 minute window, you can catch the speaker then.

If you're willing to speak, please either post in the comments here or email me at tmurray at wumpus-cave dot net. New speakers are always welcome, and the audience is friendly.

[We expect that if you're presenting a software project, you can show us the code. (This isn't a place to advertise your company's product, for example.) Unfinished/unpolished projects are welcome, but not presentations that are just ideas or plans.]

Just a reminder that if you want to present, please let me know. You can raise your hand when you get there, but it'd be nice to know that we'll have enough people to make a night of it.

Projects can be anything involving code that's not done for work. Doesn't have to be finished, just something demonstrable.

Through the local First Robotics team we have an outreach project active to teach kids with a love of playing Minecraft how to program java through modifying the source code to add items, materials, effects etc. I will present what we teach, and how we use tools like Eclipse, pastebin and Google Apps. We are looking to expand this program next school year and would like to see if any of the audience would like to get involved to help mentor local kids gain programming skills

If anyone has something they'd like to present, please let me know in a reply here or in a personal message. You don't have to sign up to present, but I'd like to know that we have enough people interested in presenting to make a night of it. Otherwise, we'll probably make this into an evening of hacking rather than presenting.
