Announcing a new Meetup for Madison Live Music Meetup!

What: Ida Jo and The Show and Corey Hart

When: Wednesday, December 15,[masked]:00 PM

Where: High Noon Saloon
701A E. Washington
Madison, WI 53703

For those of you who missed Ida Jo at the Chick Singer event last week... she was incredible! There was interest among the group in a Meetup at her next Madison show.

Even though it's a Wednesday night, this is a 6pm event and will be done well before 9, making it an early night for those of you who have jobs and are responsible. The rest of us can enjoy drinks after the show - everyone is welcome.

Ida Jo is pioneering a seldom-heard violin technique called “chopping”. She uses the bow rhythmically to create a percussive sound when playing. Rooted in the folk fiddle tradition, the chopping is “original and unexpected” (Rich Albertoni, Isthmus Daily Page). Influenced by The Band and Van Morrison since she was young, Ida Jo’s solo debut Providence “combines soulful rhythm and blues with a folk sensibility and jazz elements to create something uniquely her own.”

“Music is my solace,” says Wisconsin singer/songwriter Corey Hart, “Writing is a very internal process, but I love getting out and sharing the results.” With his soulful delivery of dynamic vocals reminiscent of the late Jeff Buckley and pulsating guitar that evokes the rhythmic playing of early Neil Young, Hart creates a brand of folk that “suggests the intensity of real life.”
