Caveman Fest 8

New to Caveman Fest and wondering what it's all about?  We all bring some paleo food to share and cook it over a campfire (or you can bring something pre-made). So just bring some food if you can and if you can't that's okay too. Feel free to bring friends and family, the more the merrier!  Expect great conversation, fun, and a full stomach.

And imaginary bonus points are always awarded to the most exotic/creative paleo foods!

Just a shoutout to say how much I wish I could make this event, but I had previous plans. I look forward to similar events in the future. I work on campus and also really enjoy Picnic Point.........

Well it turned out to be a good thing that we moved it to next weekend. There were baby goats falling out all over this morning!

I can probably make it next week. Although shivering is an important but under-appreciated part of the paleo lifestyle. Seriously. :-)

Haha, I totally knew you weren't going to like calling it off due to the weather. I almost commented beforehand that it might offend you.

Oh shoot! I just changed the date before I saw this and sent it out to everyone that we are doing next Saturday outside.

Maybe we should just go with it before this gets confusing?

But thanks Abby for offering your place! If only you had two minutes sooner. Haha.

I offer my place near downtown Madison if people still want to cave it up tomorrow. We can do the modern paleo thing by cooking meat on a stove while gathering around a gas fireplace. There's nothing like a campfire though, so if people would rather move it to a nicer day and keep it outdoors that's fine with me too.

We could also push it back a week if that works for everyone's schedule? Next Saturday is supposed to be much nicer.

I'd be cool with moving it inside if anyone has a place? It is probably about time we tried one inside. I'd offer my place, but I'm not sure if everyone wants to drive that far as I live near Edgerton.

It is really very cold today! It is dangerous for me to go out in that severe of cold with poor circulation so I will think about coming but I probably won't. Since it is below 0 real temperature, could we not move it inside somewhere?

Thanks Nate. I don't think I'll make this one, but I keep checking my schedule and will make one someday.

How long do these things usually last?

    February 4, 2014

    • Nate

They vary with the weather. But usually about 2-3 hours.
