Cabernet Sauvignons and Cheddars $14

Middleton: Cabernet Sauvignons and Cheddars

Is life a Cabernet? Join me at this tasting and we will find out together. Barriques will offer a tasting of 8 delicious bottles of Cabernet Sauvignon as well as samples of delicious cheddar cheese. The cost of the tasting is $14-please pay the Barrique's cashier when you arrive and receive a wine glass to use for the tasting and join the group. Barriques takes cash and credit cards.

Barriques in Middleton offers free parking and a full service coffee and espresso bar that opens early each morning. In addition to an irresistible fresh from the oven bakery, they have a light sandwich and salad menu to take care of your tummy. For evening enjoyment we serve beer by the bottle and wines by the glass or bottle. Plus you can pick up a bottle if you wish.

First timer but felt like I had been part of the group for a while. Thanks to all for generously providing that experience. Met some really great people.
Not sure how the typical tastings go at Barrique's, but there could have been a bit more presentation on the wine as we were sampling.

It's a fun evening they way they do it, but my guess (from more than one Barriques tastying) is that they are pushing dead product, that will sit on the shelf through all eternity unless they serve it up at a tasting. Which is not a BAD thing, unless you made it through to the last cab that night (the #8), which was almost undrinkable. (Nearly all but #3 were completely forgettable.) GREAT GROUP THOUGH, and ALWAYS FUN!!!

8 no shows Friday, Please take a minute to change your RSVP folks. Please help me out here. I am learning a lot as an organizer though. I let 57 members sign up to get 35 to attend. I think about 2-3 folks showed up without signing up so we had about 38 attending. Meetup is a very interesting process.

I had a good time. Met some new, interesting, fun people. I feel Barriques should have had been better prepared and offered some crackers or small bread/toasts and not run out of cheese. I did not feel I got my money's worth. It was more of a $10.00 value or less. Anyone else care to comment?

The cost for wine tasting varies between $11-14 regularly without cheese. The staff apologized for running out of cheese and I will follow up with their management.
