Susan Hausman, novelist and author of Cable's Image

Local resident Susan Hausman recently published her novel, Cable’s Image, with Tate Publishing. Susan will offer the group background on her path from “having her idea” for a novel to becoming a published author. She will also answer questions following her presentation.

Novelist Susan Hausman spent 27 years as a program coordinator of educational seminars and book editor of The Journal of South Asian and Middle Eastern Studies at Villanova University, Villanova, Pennsylvania. She received her advanced certification in business management from the same university. Susan was also awarded the Four Chaplains Legion of Honor Membership for her service to all people regardless of race or faith.

Having published her first novel, Susan is now working on her second.

Cable’s Image:

Nevin Cable is cursed. He is cursed with a name he hates, an absent father, and a drunk mother. Resolved to never end up like either of his parents, Nevin joins the military. This decision alters his life forever. Cable's Image explores the social issues of adoption and divorce.

Nevin Cable is the voice of this century's societal ills.

Our meeting place is Michael's Deli in King of Prussia, just north of The King of Prussia Mall on Rt 202. The address is 130 Town Center Road in King of Prussia,[masked]-3265. The meeting officially starts at 7:00 pm but many of us come early (around 6) to eat and socialize a bit - but you can order your meal at any time during the meeting. We use a private room and the acoustics are great. You'll have no problem hearing our speaker or each other. Just a reminder that you can order a scrumptious meal at Michael's off their extensive menu.

PLEASE use the Meetup response to let us know whether you are coming as quickly as you can: it helps us plan for the evening. As always, feel free to bring a friend!

If you have any questions, please contact me at [masked]. I hope to see you there.

The presentation was very good, but as always I was most jazzed by the questions and discussion which followed.

Very enjoyable meeting. Lots of food for thought and a special treat that the speaker turned out to be somebody I knew in a previous work life. Goes to prove it really is a small world.

If you're a writer looking for inspiration, then Susan's talk to the group this night was a perfect fit. Oh, sure, she got "lucky" when her manuscript landed on the right desk on the right day and was read by the right person, but that's inspiration to keep at it, not a reason to think it won't happen to you. Like winning the Lotto, you can't win if you don't write, and Susan Hausman's tale of getting published was a nice charge to the writing battery.

Tonight's meeting and guest speaker were great. It was a real inspiration to hear Susan Hausman's success story with her first novel. Gives me the boost I need to keep on writing. Thanks for this meetup.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
