Special Critique Session

Here's how it works: Email 15 pages in Manuscript Format (Double Spaced, Times New Roman or Courier, Name in the header along with page numbers) to: [masked]

Pieces for this meeting are due by 1/15/2014

Please make sure that you use Doc or RTF file when submitting, not Docx.

Please include the Genre of the piece and also if it's a short story, novella or novel.

It's important to get your pieces in early so that everyone has time to read and critique them. I'll email the stories out to everyone 7 days before the Meetup.

Each person will have 2 minutes to critique. There will be a timer to keep participants on time so that we can get to each piece in a timely manner. Please limit your comments accordingly and hit only the highlights so that we have enough time for everyone to be critiqued. They'll be getting your written comments, so there's no need to try and read all your comments at the table.

If you are submitting a piece of a novel, please include a short synopsis of what's gone on before so that people can focus their questions on the chapters submitted.

Very Good meeting. To go with good laughs, there was plenty of good advice on how to improve everyone's work.

Do you have to be a published writer to join your group?

Hi Martin! No, you don't have to be a published writer. I suggest coming to one of the regular meetings (this is a small sub-group) to get a feel for whether you'd like to join the group. The next regular group meeting is Feb 19. It's a 5 page critique meeting, so you could bring some of your work for feedback or just come and help people improve their work through constructive criticism.
