Master Class IM Warrior Forum

This meetup is intended as a meeting of the minds. Invitations are open to any individual group members who are actively making money in Internet Marketing with an eCommerce business.

The recommended format is that we select two member websites, attendees do their homework on that site before hand, and we come together to discuss challenges and brainstorm solutions.

Our collective goal is to help each other advance our commercial interests. We give of our time now because we know when it's our site's turn, we'll benefit from the groups insight and support.

I'm posting this meetup to gauge interest. I'll schedule it to repeat the last Tuesday of every other month. Please use the space below to volunteer your site for discussion if you'd like, comment on the idea of the meetup itself, and/ or make format suggestions related to this meetup.

Reminder for those attending. We're at 392 Fore Street (door to the left of Gritty's Store) on the 3rd Floor. Doors will open around 6:45 if you'd like to come by a little early. The format will be informal.

    See you soon,

    Chris

Super bummed that I'm going to be missing this, but I'd like to thank you all in advance for reviewing our site navicache.com. Kurt will be there taking notes and feedback. Our "geocahcing ecosystem" as I've come to call it has a huge potential, and Portland is the perfect place to re-launch this site from. Thanks again,
    -Ej

This month's meetup states that it is for those who are actively making money on the internet. I am not, yet.... making money but can I still attend?

      Hi Marcia -

Tonight's meeting is only for those with active business ventures generating income through online marketing.

I'd suggest you consider our Beginner's Forum which we hold ever other month; the last Tuesday of the month. The next session is in April.

      Thanks for asking.

Looks like we have our two websites for next Tuesday:

    - kraftydesigns.com
    - navicache.com

Please do your homework and come Tuesday prepared to provide some feedback, input, and recommendations. Give this post a "like" if you are on board and plan to come with feedback.

    Thanks!

    Hi Chris,
I'm really interested in attending the meeting this month -- I'm a Web developer of 10 years experience, and I'm looking to expand on my internet marketing skills... i have the basics down, but I'm looking to grow them further. I'm currently working on my portfolio site, trying to make it a better tool for getting freelance work in the Portland area, as well as getting some small business clients.

My site may not be the best candidate for the meeting, but if you need another one, its at www.kraftydesigns.com

    thanks.

Thanks Nathaniel - Do you currently get business through the site? How would you describe your primary challenges? Otherwise said, what specifically are you looking for as an outcome from your internet marketing efforts?

      March 21, 2013

    • Nathaniel

Currently, I'm using my site more as a Portfolio; I have basic SEO set up, and I've been writing some content here and there to try and drive up some traffic. Ideally, I want my site to start doing more work for me -- IE, getting hits/visitors that can lead to business development. My goal is to work with very small businesses, nonprofits, and restaurants in Portland; as such, I want these people to be able to find me through my site.

www.navicache.com is a project my business partner and I are in the process of redoing. We are looking for a developer currently and have a few site designs in the works. We need a lot of help and would LOVE the opportunity to get some others eyes on the project and make suggestions. If interested in including us, let me know.

Hi Kurt - Tell us about your short term goals, challenges to date, a bit more about your vision for the site. How do you monetize the site currently?

      March 20, 2013

    • Kurt M.

Chris. Our short term goals are simple. Get the look and feel of the site redone and more user friendly. We completed a 99 design contest for some of the graphics and I will be taking care of the rest. Our challenge has been getting the right person on our team to assist in the development work and tying everything together. Our busy schedules have also been a factor and support from peers will certainly keep us heading in the right direction. We have about 40k subscribers to this site and a pretty solid Facebook fan base for our geocaching blog. We currently monetize the site by having Google Adsense adds but we are considering offering some premium features/services in the future for a yearly membership fee.

We need a couple company URLs to focus on for this meeting. Does anyone want to volunteer their website? Please comment below to volunteer your site.

Here's the idea behind this meeting:

    - Two websites are posed to this group prior to the meetup along with the primary challenges the owner is having with the website.

    - Those attending do their research on each domain and come prepared with a set of insights, recommendations, and action items. - We discuss these as a group. The person who's website was the recipient of this feedback tells the group what changes they'll make and commits to reporting back on progress.

    ...

While we love all of our group members, this session is only for those actively making money in internet marketing. This is not a session for beginners. Please see our Beginner's Forum meetings if you're interested in getting involved but are not actively engaged in a money making online venture.

Hi Chris, I am going to have to bow out of the meeting on the 26th that I signed up to attend. I'll be at a trade show through Monday evening and will not have time to devote to a web site review. Sorry to miss it and hope to meet up another time. Betsy

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
